If its under 3" it, IMO isnt even a P. muticus despite it being a P. muticus. IME an OW sling is just a sling but as soon as it reaches around 3 1/2 - 4" its NOT what it will ebcome. They will almost always be timid and reclusive and flighty when smale but as soon as they reach that mark thry...

IME it depends on the species. NWs might be timid with live prey even when hungry, ut OWs usually attack when hungry. I use live prey always at first but after a few tries unsuccessfully ill prekill.
I personally would not leave a live prey item in a tiny slings enclosure for 24 hours, however.
