how old do the females have to be to mate? I have a MM he's been mature for a little over a year but still kicking. my buddy I think has a female and i'm considering shipping mine out to him to try and breed.
anyone know what this is right between her two body segments? i'm worried it looks like it might be some sort fungus or mold or possibly something caused by mites. her substrate has been damp lately thanks to a water dish made from some sort of porous rock material I noticed it had been leaking...
is there a better form in here to try and find someone who might have a female G. Pulchripes looking for a mate? I have a male G.pulchripes that just came out of his final molt last week and I'd like to not let him die a virgin like I did with my A. Metalica.
everyone seems to have already given you good advice on re-doing the substrate. I would also read the bag for that forest floor bedding just to make sure that pine isn't used in making it. from my past research and understanding. pine is bad for spiders in general and if it is pine it could be...
No it’s a tank that is taller than it is wide. She really wants to try and re-purpose this tank. Was just seeing if anyone else had any ideas. The only idea i have is to get a drill bit for glass be careful and hope we don’t shatter it and put a bunch of ventilation holes in it. Probably the...
My Girlfriend is moving her fish to a new tank but the old tank is a good sized tall tank and she thinks she wants to try and convert it for an arboreal tarantula set up. I'm really interested in helping her do this but I have concerns I was thinking of putting a plexiglass lid on top with holes...
@PidderPeets this makes me so happy to hear to get so lucky as to have a female. I raised it from a half inch sling that I paid $30 for it came in the mail it escaped and ran around my bathroom a few times when I rehoused it from the little vial it was in originally.
had only a 1.5" legspan 2 years ago when I got him and now he's the same size if not bigger than my other t's that i've had for 4-5 years all different species. I read that this species grows fast but I didn't know he'd grow this quickly.
I think it might be large enough to identify. I tried to get the molt because I know those are easier to identify but it was pretty destroyed. i'll try and get the next molt before it's destroyed for confirmation of anyone's guesses but for now it was in a good position for me to take a decent pic.
i'm looking into getting or making a foger or mister to help regulate/boost the humidity in my emperor tank there are several available commercially. I've also watched several how-too videos on building one. has anyone had experience with any they've purchased or built? what are your opinions...
also update I did find a spermatophore in one of the water dishes tonight. I would be very excited if one of the scorpions was misidentified and turned out to be female. at the convention I got them from there was only one dealer selling emperor scorpions they had like a large 30-40 gallon tank...
what would you say would be the best way to cover the tank cause I do try and moisten it regularly but it's dry by the next day. would laying a piece of plexiglass on top of the screen mesh help?
came home to two of my emperor scorpions going at this i've only read descriptions of their mating dance i've never seen it. just trying to see if anyone knows if that's what this is or if I should be concerned that they're fighting. they live in a shallow long 10 gallon tank with one other emp...
