I dont see many people talking about what they name their pedes! I have five so far and there is:

Folium Mortuum Esq. (female chicobolus spinigerus) Black and White Ivory

Eucalyptus Globulous (male narceus gordanus) Yellow Banded Cherry

Locke (male narceus gordanus) Smoky Oak

Rousseau (female narceus americanus) Giant Pink Foot

Deep Dish (female narceus gordanus) Ghost Oak

Pls post pictures of your pedes as well with their names, I always love seeing pictures on here ☺ I only really have pictures of Folium because she’s the most active, and the others really only come out at midnight.

I don't name my inverts, Jason,l. I lost my hypo false water cobra of 8 years Earl in a house fire almost 2 years ago. I like inverts but just decided to get back into them because you can be unattached in a way.

I named my Vietnamese Giant Centipede "Sepa" pronounced sea pa. He is the Egyptian centipede god known for protection against other venomous animals in the kingdom, eating the bugs that feast on the dead to help farther preserve them for the afterlife and he is known for fertility because they are said to follow earthworms that make grounds fertile

I dont have a good picture because i havent had a good chance, yet but it is a cherry morph and i will work on getting one

Thank you, I dont have a really good one yet she is new to my collection and I wanted it to get comfortable before I asked it to allow a picture, and because its eye candy and not a holding toy I wont have one of it in my hand lol, when it comes out tonight i'll try to snap one

Update and edit. I am questioning the color morph it was sold to me under the name cherry, but I am thinking it is Flame Leg morph, I would like your opinion on it if you would. I have been questioning it this past week, it is out of its burrow so I took a pic. From what I can find the morph of color is region specific and it is a Scolopendra dehaani

Absolutely gorgeous!!!! Also love how you’re respectful of holding her. I’m not sure its a flame leg because the feets seem more pink/red rather than that orange/yellow color they typically have. Flamelegs have a pretty ombre while your beautiful girl seems to have a nice solid color.

yea I was talking to a another user on here who is quite informative and he has a morph just like it and he said it was a Red or Orange leg morph of the Vietnamese region as flame legs come from the Thia region. I have read this and when he confirmed it it made sense as it is a Vietnamese Giant.

As for holding it as much as I would like to say "Yup ive tried it" I dont think the selfishness of me trying to say i did it and the fact its a loaded gun cancel each other out  and if anything multiply each other. There are pets that like it, but when you are talking about a animal that has no want then it becomes one sided and selfish. I have to care for it and I am ready for that bite, but i am not going to temp it if I can avoid it for as long as possible by giving it the respect it deserves. I am one who always complains people put their own personalities into the animals they have way to much. That animal doesnt need a shirt or pants and it isnt sitting there saying "This is my favorite thing to do". I wont deny a hat though, I think a animal in a hat is really funny. My daughter got this pair of cat aviator glasses she put on the cat and I found it funny because my cat wears scarfs for some reason and now the glasses lmao, and if you pick one up he will ask for it so i guess there are some sort of acceptations if they truly want it them selves.

lol none the less I do not want to be hit my by scolopendra, but i am a sucker for dangerous animals and you know what they say "Live by the sword"
