Mine is my Grammostola pulchripes. He or she just wont leave the water dishes alone. Always filling them with substrate, flipping them over, or just burying them. Uggggg

Sorry Italian Chris, but Pelinobius muticus.

Always hiding, eats okay but not great, and loves morning and then never coming out.

T. stirmi, I guess. The hairs are a pain (literally), it’s moody, and has been in premolt for a while.

Before premolt, her antics were tolerable because feeding time was always fun. Now she’s a Moody Judy and kind of a PITA.

Still, she’s my baby.

The easiest is my GBB sling. Eats like a maniac, molts easily, isn’t bolty...awesome T.

whichever one just escaped

I just recovered my T gigas. (It had escaped during a feeding about 48 hours before.) During the escape I was tracking it, and using my hand to keep it from running under furniture while trying to get a capture cup on top, but then it teleported away. Seriously, it was at arm's length and then it wasn't. It vanished before my eyes.

I always wish stories like these were caught on video!

Definitely my female N. colloratovillosus. Or should I say my wannabe C. Lividus :shifty:.

Never have I had a spider excavate so quickly after a rehouse, to literally never come to the surface after months of even checking in during the dead of night. It took 3 attempts to get her to even burrow close to the side of the tank even using the obstruction method. I’ve finallt gotten it to a point where I can see her on occasion, but it’s been a struggle.

The only T in my collection that consistently frustrates me is the Euathlus sp. red sling. It burrows for months and seals itself in, not allowing me to provide it with food or water. It doesn't seem to be growing, which is probably because it's not eating, which is probably because it's underground 24/7. I have tried leaving tiny pre-killed crickets in there overnight, just in case it came out while I was asleep, but it doesn't seem to ever touch them. As of right now, I regret buying it. Maybe if it survives and gets bigger, I will start enjoying it. Right now, I'm mostly worried that it's not getting enough water, so I spray the inside of the vial it's in, but that evaporates quickly. :banghead:

Probably my M. balfouri. She would show interests in a stick whenever I "tickle" her out but once the roach hit the ground, instant threat pose, technically beating that roach to death with her repetitive strikes.:hurting:

Oh good. I'm not the only one with a b. albo who refuses to freaking eat :rage: It's been over a month since it's last moult. This is a juvie, maybe 2", so not a mature male.

"They always eat!" They said. "I've never had one refuse a meal!" They said.

Ephebopus cyanognathus, the only reason I even know he's still alive is because he randomly pebble-dashes the lid of his enclosure.

It goes back and forth between my A. avicularia and my GBB. Currently its the avic. Shes been super reclusive since her molt. Im beginning to find a pattern with her molt cycles.
The GBB gets the title when he takes forever to start webbing up his new enclosure. Or decides he doesnt want the food, but will most definitely panic if you take it away from him.

Luckily none of my tarantulas earned ‘pain in the butt’ title just yet, but here are some minor issues with them:

• Brachypelma albopilosum - has a weird obsession over a water dish.

• Brachypelma klaasi - loves to play dirty, wait i meant dirt.

• Neoholothele Incei x 2 - won’t stop webbing the lid, so I can startle them everytime I open their enclosure.

I second this....I don't even know if it's alive. No stench...must be good???
I can agree. Mine is just a sling, but it's either hiding or attempting an escape. Doesn't eat that great, rarely grows or molts.

I might change my answer to my P. regalis sling. It’s either running around like it’s on fire or it’s hiding.

Troublesome. Cute, but troublesome.

My 2" P. cancerides, trying to get it's water dish out to clean and refill it is an adventure every single time. Today was feeding day and even with a mouthful of 2 roaches the little booger decided that because the water dish was moving it must be food too and tried to grab it. It can move faster than my eyes can track it, should be fun when it gets bigger :anxious:

Not sure if I would consider this one a PITA but my H. gigas named Larry never wants to eat for me. He also happens to be one of my favorite tarantulas, even though most of the time I only see one of his legs; hence why I call him a "pet leg" instead of a "pet hole."

Despite being reclusive and never really seeing Larry, he also possesses the most character out of all my spiders. I just love him so much that I decided to get more H. gigas slings-Leonard and Laureline. I refer to all my H. gigas spiders as the "Larries."

Complete PITA? Maybe so, but so much love. How could one not fall in love with a big, fat, red reclusive spider?
