Especially S.calceatum, they are notoriously defensive, very fast and have one of the worst bites in the hobby.

No need. It was more of stiff jab then a proper punch. Soup for a couple of weeks and she was right as a clock. She'd only spend her money on bingo. Where as I spent her money on that beautiful tarantula so it was definitely the right thing to do.

One lesson I definitely did learn from it though was I need to lean in more when I jab.
