I was in the garden today and found this spider. Her body is about 1/4 inch long. I have seen many little burrows in the garden, and I think this species of spider makes those. I was looking at the eye arrangement of this spider in the pictures I took, and it looks similar to that of a wolf spider. The bottom row of eyes seem to curve upward. (like a smiley face) The carapace seems almost triangular. Also, the spider kept holding it's rear leg in its' jaws, and seemed to clean them with her other legs. Hope this picture is enough to ID it.
P.S.- This is a real spider even though it has 6 legs. By looking closely, I saw two tiny stubs where the other legs had been. Wonder how she lost them.
