hey so my tarantula i think it’s called a brazilian black has been acting really weird and it’s just that one, none of my other ones are showing the same behavior. but it’s wobbling / little twitches like crazy. like it keeps walking like it can’t stand up and is standing really high with its abdomen up and not normally. it isn’t like violently twitching or acting intensely not doing any of the extreme behaviors that DKS symptoms have. when she’s still she’s fine but when walking she’s acting strange so i’m confused and worried on what to do.

Unfortunately, nothing much you can do.

Best thing would be find what caused it so it doesn't spread. Chemicals, feeders, etc.

I’ve lost 5-10 Ts to DKS, and no cure to this day has been found. Try and get video of it .

Concerning Your Grammostola Pulchra / "Brazilian Black"...
Can You think of anything that may have been introduced unintentionally to G. Pulchra's Enclosure recently,
Be it Bad Feeder / Tainted Water, Substrate, Plants, etc.
Or Chemical Toxins transfered directly from Handling or Airborne Spraying?

I had a B. Klaasi act in a similar manner for some time. Movement was very jerky/wobbly and didn't look good This was the only one of my Ts with that kind of symptoms. After reviewing threads on AB I started to suspect an air freshener we were using in the bathroom two doors down from the spider room. This air freshener had all kinds of harsh chemicals in it. Stopped using the air freshener and the symptoms thankfully subsided. The T has been back to full working capacity since then. This might have been a coincidende since none of my other Ts had any issues but in any case I am happy, that this T is doing well again.

You don’t know what tarantula you own? 🙄
Nothing you can do, we think some toxin causes this movement disorder- no one knows for sure.

I will say when I brought home my G pulchripes sling he did this I thought it was because the vendor dropped him or dls but someone told me to take out the moss and compact the dirt more since it was only when he walked. lol I didn’t think that would help but it did!! I panicked over nothing😭

Post a video.

Dehydration can also cause some jerky movements, so do not discard it.

How are you keeping it? (Enclosure's conditions)

Like the others said, it could be multiple reasons.
* Dehydration. Give them fresh, clean water
* Scented candles, incenses, perfumes, hairspray
* Cleaning products, bleach, paint fumes, etc
* DKS
* Pesticides from the feeders, but you said the other ones are fine so maybe rule this one out

I don't Handle / Hold the Spiders in My Care, However many Keepers Do....
That being said, if T was Handled? T could have been poisoned from Toxic Residue on Unwashed Hands.

honestly no i don’t use air fresheners or chemicals in my room. only time chemicals are used are downstairs but it’s been the same routine for like a year and nothing like this happened. only thing i’ve noticed was after it molted it stood weirdly. i checked for mold & everything and it’s water is always full. gonna try to video it.

i do but i forgot how to type the scientific name 💀 maybe don’t act rude lmaoooo but maybe it is i’m just kind of confused because nothing has changed when it comes to routine. only thing i’ve noticed was right after it molted it has been standing weirdly like … all the way up with its abdomen up. just noticed wobbling the day i posted this which was yesterday. i’ll try to add a video onto this thread.

i’m thinking dehydration but i don’t exactly know because i keep it’s water full and clean.. and i don’t use any scented things in my room & use water for dust and things like that. with cleaning products it’s been the same since i first got it and all my other ones. right after it molted i noticed it standing weirdly but thought it was just normal and yesterday i noticed wobbling and twitching.

Oh man lol I can’t believe they still sold it after having to cornstarch it!!! I hope u got a good discount on it. Did u take any pics yet? My G pulchra is always sticking his butt up going into 4x4 mode, standing weird on the walls and doing yoga and it’s funny lots of others say their pulchra slings do funny things like here’s mine at random times. Have u seen him wobbling again or just that one time? I hope everything is fine and it’s just something silly instead

Rude is a subjective term. I was stating a question based on YOUR WORDS, “i think it’s called a brazilian black”

You’re the one that caused the question to be asked. Your messaging, not mine. Get it straight:

A video would be helpful.

Don't worry Viper is just blunt like that. He cares about tarantulas though!
