well so far so good. it ate for me, and has shed. its eyes nostril and pits have all the sand out. will take a pic when i can. also i cannot accomdate the heat pad the tank it is in is really old so the glass is 5/8 thick so it is severly heavy. but i do have the light keeping one side really warm.

Exact temps? And what about humidity? I cannot stress enough how important humidity is for this species. (I don't quite follow why thick glass means you can't have a heating pad, I see no reason why this should be a problem. )

Awesome to know he's eating, shed, and sandless! It was looking pretty bad there for a while.

well it is a huge tank and really hard for me to manuver by myself, i could implement a heating pad on the side. as for the humidity i try and keep it high, i heavily mist the hot spot and mist lightly the snkaew itself.

It should be legal to treat idiots and heartless twits that abuse animals the same way. I took a 8 fott redtail from a guy once who was seriously neglecting it.It was blind, and skin and bones. It had burns from ciggaretts, and had staples stuck in its tail. I literately as soon as I seen it took it out in front of him and walke dout the door.He went to prtest, but i picked up a large fence rail that was by his gate, and told him I would kill him if he even tried to stop me. The snake healed after abiout a year.It still is blind, but has a great home at a friends house.I hope the snake you rescued does well, and kudos to you my friend for saving it!!   :worship:

But *what are the temps*? And misting that much is NOT a good idea--a damp tank leads to scale rot.

hello all well my big heart has landed another abused and severly neglected reptile in my care. this lil thing i rescued from a complete moron who had it on sand and in a tank that had not been cleaned for quite some time. anyway he says it is three years old, it looks like it ocular scales are stuck their from past moults. is there anything i can do to get them off? anyway here it is poor thing.

Poor little critter. I don't have any snakes..but I'd say put it in a proper enclosure for a few months and see what happens. Reason I say that is it's eyes didn't scale over in a couple hours, or days..it took 3 years. Give nature a shot to clear it up.

You really should edit the picture code out of the quote. :) And also, no, if the snake had 3 years of unshed eye caps on there, the amount of eye damage would be irreversible and it would probably have gone blind a LONG time ago. Snakes *do* need help when things go wrong. If it has a previous eyecap or two stuck on there still (if you read the entire thread, it has shed once in its new home and is sand-free, though no mention of the eyecap status), it needs *way* more help than just a proper enclosure and "giving nature a shot."

TobusRex meant for the less serious stuff, like not enough food or room, that will be fixed now that it has proper care. Post pictures soon! :)

will do. i was on constrictors forums and they ahve a thread for bp's. a long time keeper told me to mist the hot spot in the cage to increase humidity. not the whole cage.... it dries very fast under the infrared light.
