why wont my jumping spider eat it just kills prey

it wont eat what i feed it it just kills it and leaves it alone

its got a orange dot on it and it has a bluish color for chisarei

Could be the enclosure your keeping it in, she/he is better in a clear container with places to hide/air holes and you being able to see it, they stalk thir pray then pounce on it, give more floor space/a bit of cocofiber substrate and bits to climb on, if its a she then she may not be hungry or pregnant, cant be sure of that but very possible. other than that give him/her time to settle in.

thx mark i put her in a four inch long by two inch wide container and three inch tall ill take pics and put them on here ok so i can show you it could you id it what species and genus i wonder

shes loving the cage looking everywhere in there and i put a cricket in there and a cotten ball soaked in water that is if it will drink from the ball :clap:

Hi glad its got a new enclosure, I do have to say is, it doesn't need that cotton ball to drink, a small bottle cap with water will do fine or just mist a bit on the corner of the enclosure, you could take out most of the leaves and give a clear area for it to see, they are very good hunters so could be fine. The KK seems big for it although they do sometimes like to travel to eat, could be fine, everything said i do think she will be happy in the end, not exactly sure of the SP of your jumper as not very clear pics. others may give you more info on your spider.

Hello , i also have a few jumping spider i caught few days ago , they seem to eat , they dont really swallow the whole insect , they suck the fluids of the insect, if it kills a prey then it means it was drinking the fluids in it .

jeromeetobuzo i had put injured honey bees in cage and it killed them but didnt eat them by draining them of thier juices they were not bone dry they didn't crumble in between my fingers guts squished out of the bees ok just letting everyone know this ok

Thats what you had your spider in, in the top pics with the blue lid, KK means Critter keeper, I would have said that before but didn't know if you already new what it ment.

thx mark i dont know any slang spider terms or cage terms yet but now i know kk means critter keeper thx can you type out every spider term or cage term all in one message please mark teach me everything you know ok i apreciate it a lot if you taught me you could pm me all the info i need or post it for all to see your choice but thank you for the help
