As many of y’all know, there’s a lot of debate as to which tarantula is the most rewarding to own. I think I have a funny argument though.

C. darlingi isn’t flashy, it isn’t handleable, and is not rare or exciting to most people.

But it makes up for all of that. C. darlingi is cheap, hardy, easy to house (box of dirt), isn’t picky, requires little to no maintenance most of the time, and is absolutely the most fun tarantula to feed. They are always hungry and can take down prey the same size as the spider. They don’t get massive, they are just lit.

Anyone considering one that hasn’t already owned one, just spend the 15 dollars to get a box of dirt with a bad attitude and blue feet.

I'll take the c. Darlingi and raise you one h. Pulchripes.

Joking aside, I do love having my darlingi. It has made an elaborate whack a mole home and I love it. I couldn't wait for it to grow It's horn and when it finally did, I was so excited. If it was out as much as my h. Pulchripes, then I would say it's my number one favorite but it's definitely a close 2nd. 20240916_224405.jpg
