So i bought a t sirmi as my first tarantula ,i know i jumped into the deep end, ive had her temperature at 25 degrees Celsius i keep her substrate moist not soaking and ive fed her two medium sized locusts yeterday and she has about four inches of substrate HOWEVER ive just caught her climbing the walls of her enclosure and it nearly gave me a heart attack shes been in there for about two days so i dont know wether its her exploring or if theres something wrong with her cage but i don't know what it is and i dont see a problem. any thoughts as too what could be causing her to climb? shes has been in her hide for most of the day and because its nighttime shes come out of her hide so im not sure

No issue with stirmi being a first T imo. Behavior sounds normal to me, I experience similar with mine; although my male has calmed down quite a bit in recent weeks. I initially thought the behavior was due to my stirmi being a male; but then I acquired a female and she is a roamer too, even more than the male. I have them both setup in terrariums with lighting, so at night I can observe them when they are out and about and they are usually out. If they walk into a wall they continue walking, even if it means upwards. Curious to hear from others on it as well.

Yep mine is a female and she climbs a ton, slides down and often into her water dish. she's a nut. she'll also fang the crap out of the enclosure walls. totally normal. they're escape artists.
