Who molted today?

1.0(?) Aphonopelma seemanni

After my (recently confirmed) female now it was my suspected male’s turn to do a flip and complete a molt. He decided to do it on the surface which was quite of an interesting choice considering that it’s basically a steep slope thanks to the guy’s systematic earthworks. He did a not very thorough job with his molt mat, then he flipped. Checked him couple of hours later but to my utter surprise he was nowhere to be found, so I took a closer look at the enclosure to find this:

Looks like he rolled down during the process and ended up at the burrow entrance in a relatively lucky position, there weren’t much space, but still enough to complete the molt. It was a rather unorthodox way to do it, but looks like he likes to live dangerously.

Jokes aside glad he was OK after his little tumble they don't half like to keep us on our toes , makes me wonder how they ever survive in the wild

P. Cambridgei juvie had a molt yesterday. No pics as she's deep in her web tube, but here's her molt, measuring in at 3"DLS
And my new baby X. Immanis had its first molt with me, very excited about this little one! Probably already needs an enclosure upgrade once it hardens up, the legs look quite a bit bigger now.

My little versicolor is finishing their molt right now. They’re always obscured by the web tunnel, but I’m hoping they put on size enough to rehouse after this or the next molt to get a good look at them.

Not quite ready to come meet the world yet, Sacha molted yesterday. Having never used his hide in the 1.5 yrs I’ve had him, he finally did last night..to stuff his exuvia into. All hail the prince!

I've got two freshly molted to share. My Aphonopelma sp Acapulco, Fuego put on some nice size and is a bit over 2 inches now.
My Phormictopus sp bayahibe finally molted as well. Her last molt was 7 months ago, but the new colors are worth the wait! Her carapace and femurs are a lovely iridescent pink that only barely showed up on camera. She seems to have put on quite some size too!

1.0 Poecilotheria vittata, 5" DLS. I thought he was penultimate, but looks like I get to keep him through at least 1 more molt cycle. Not great pics, but look how purple he is when the light hits right!

My goodness, do they come any cuter?

She made her way out... Just one of those "flip and do nothing for several hours and then molts in 30 minutes," scenarios I guess. She's so dark and mysterious now!


While I was stressing out about the ultramarinus, my brachy bunch planned an event

Freddie, B Emilia, his last molt was Aug 23, looks like he went from 2.1" to 2.2"


Vlad, B boehmei, I feel like he just molted a few months ago...he's been on the lean side refusing food for a few weeks though.


And happening now, Ktulu, B klaasi, she is my wildest tarantula. All that talk about personalities changing between molts...ha. But here's hoping!

Edit: it's been 5 hours, Ktulu is still in the same spot. Why do these girls do this to me? I recorded her for about 10 mins, when watching it on 100x I saw a fang move. She was otherwise healthy but I am still going to spend the rest of my night searching for longest successful molts lol
