So kind of an uncommon occurence. My 6 inch dls mature male Honduran T. albopilosus decided to molt right when I was leaving for work today. Last molt was on 10/2/22. When it completed it's molt into a mature male. I'm super worried because I know it's a higher chance of having a bad molt.

I had a previous mature male do the same thing. That MM was an A. chalcodes and it started molting on 11/3/22. Previous molt into a mature male was on 4/28/21. Was the worse bad molt I've ever witnessed. He only freed two legs and got his fangs out, was horrible. He had to be euthanized, was very upsetting for me.

Now I'm worried about my T. albo, it was my first tarantula. There's nothing I can do but hope for a successful molt.

UPDATE:
Got home from work and it's a successful molt 🙂

0.0.1 Ephebopus rufescens sling molted today. Molt was 2.125" DLS, and chewed up enough that I couldn't sex it.

I’ve had a lot of molts that I’ve lost track now. One I was waiting for a long time was my sub adult OBT. It molted and I’m happy to say it’s a female. 😍 4FE037A2-AB45-4524-AA50-CC917C26C3FB.jpeg

And she is done, molt measured 4.1 inches. Will be rehousing her into her final enclosure then see if I can start to condition them for breeding.

My first ever T, Fran the Tliltocatl albopilosus decided to molt as well and pulled a fast one on me with a sub 1 hour molt. Now sitting at 4.5 inch. Are those nubs spermethacea?

Looks like my 0.0.1 Chilobrachys sp. "Electric Blue" sling will soon be going through a molt given that it didn't immediately destroy the cricket I'd left in there. If the cricket is still alive tomorrow I'll figure it's in premolt and pull it out.

My 0.0.1 P. irminia also seems to have entered premolt and my 0.0.1 A. geniculata is well into premolt. Hopefully they'll molt sometime within the next two weeks, because I do want to get all three of them rehoused in short order for various reasons.
