I live close to a large lake and when I take out my spiders for a walk twice a week, we usually stop by there for a drink.

I'm more towards about how they are kept in their enclosures than the species itself be the thirstiest.

Keep a tropical species dry and you will see them drinking, keep them moist and you won't see them drinking so often.

The only time I saw mine drinking (chewing/squeezing the moss) was with the enclosures dry, or when I decreased the moisture of them.

I also noticed that the geniculata has te ability to keep moisture under them, condensing droplets under their bodies, like the fine morning dew. I wouldn't be surprised if they can drink that dew by capilarity.

I've only ever seen two of mine drink from a bowl, my GBB and N chromatus juveniles. The GBB more so, as it will go straight to the dish as soon as I have filled it up.
