Whew, and I thought I was in the minority by not naming! That said, I love your creativity, Betuana, and might be more apt to name mine if I could come up with anything half as interesting!

Our first rosey, 14 years ago, was yet another "Mr. T.," but that was largely because my son was home and it was technically his pet. (And our second was Harry (hairy). )

Now I have a 7-year-old GBB who has yet to acquire a name, and 9 slings of various ages, which so far just go by their scientific binomials, tho my daughter is eager to name them...still may happen, as their "personalities" emerge.

I keep wanting to call my N. vulpinus "Wookie":

:D

i name all of mine for sure! it makes them more... pet-like. and who cares if they're sexed first? my girlfriend named my .75 inch seemanni sling, franklin. it may be a female, but dangit, her name will be franklin! ;P

now i just need names for my new Rhacodactylus auriculatus and A. hentzi or anax (whichever she ends up being)...?

I have named all of my T's. No real reason other than on the T record keeper, there is a place for a pet name. :wall:

I named my first T. Now I just go by species name(m/f), if I have multiple number of the same species (slings, ect) I go by number. I know the number system, I'm so american

I name pretty much everything I have short of individual colony roaches (that would be a bit much). So yes, all of my T's have names. Granted I don't have many, but considering I once had 55 bettas simultaneously and each was named, I don't think I'd have a problem even with a large number.

For your amusement, my T's names are:
Rosalinda (G. rosea)
Gram (G. rosea)
Dexter (P. murinus)
Buddha (P. chordatus)
Okapi (A. seemani)
Gacey (E. pachypus)
Deliverance (A. avicularia)
Bailar (A. avicularia)
Bashkir (B. albopilosa)

How about Aretha Franklin :D .

I don't name them but my daughters usually do. They seem to prefer "old fashioned" names like Gwendolynn, Hilda and Dorothy (that one's an A. avic. My oldest daughter thought her pink toes looked like ruby slippers lol). Thing is, I've found myself using the names when I talk to them about the Ts (even though I'm always being corrected by them when I get the names wrong :wall: ).

If something dosen't "pop" into my head when I get the T, it gets no name.
With that being said, my first two tarantulas were named, then(I mentioned this somewhere else) all the rest of the collection became known as "Agents", in the order I got them. Agent 1, Agent 2, and so forth. I got to Agent 12, and as for my 13th T, I just acquired a female N. chromatus, and named her Nhandy.{D

Some have names, some dont. Its kinda hard to name all 34 Ts.
34? try coming up with over 250 names. All our T's have names. There are some new ones that are just numbered but that is only until we figure out names.
But I am also insane enough to keep track of each feeding and molt.

Wow! I do, too, but I only have 10! I'm most impressed.

Enjoying the variety of names--you all are very creative!

Yes, I named my A. Avic. She is my pet, therefore, she deserves a name. For silliness, I went to the Social Security Admin site for the top 10 baby girl names and settled on the moniker of "Sofia". It suits her - she is VERY laid back for an A. Avic. I plan on doing the same for my 2nd T that I am hoping to decide upon soon (still deciding on what to get!)

Thankfully Mina and I read a lot of Science Fiction and Fantasy. These books provide endless, and unique names for our T's.
