Soooo. Does tarantula poop usually look like small grains of white rice, or should I be concerned?
It's my E. murinus. Shes pretty new to my collection so I wasn't sure if I should be worried for parasites.yes, but there are exceptions. Many of the avicularia family poop like birds and use it as a defense mechanism against potential predators.
Someone who's more knowledgeable about your question will want a picture. It's my E. murinus. Shes pretty new to my collection so I wasn't sure if I should be worried for parasites.
I have seen lots of poop that looks like that. Sometimes their poop is just a liquid that eventually turns white, and sometimes it has little grains in it.Soooo. Does tarantula poop usually look like small grains of white rice, or should I be concerned?
Very strange... I have like 20 Ts in my collection right now down from 28 and I've never noticed any feces that wasn't just like flat liquid looking. The more you know I guess lmao.I have seen lots of poop that looks like that. Sometimes their poop is just a liquid that eventually turns white, and sometimes it has little grains in it.
None of the pictures of this "rice poop" look like the chalky white stuff with little grains in it to me. Something about these pictures just doesn't look right to me. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how a spider can excrete this type of substance. Like @Mvtt70 I have never seen this type of thing before over my 20 years of keeping tarantulas and having who-knows-how-many species over that time. But that doesn't mean it never happened in my collection though. Some of my tarantulas over the years may have pooped rice and I never noticed. I'm puzzled by all of this. I guess I am just going to have to follow my spiders around with a little baggie in hopes to get a stool sample.I have seen lots of poop that looks like that. Yes their poo is usually white and small like that. Mine only poop on their glass and top mesh of their enclosures; kinda like bird poo like a previous person mentioned and it's a bear to clean because it sticks to the glass like a champ. And one likes to poop in her water dish for whatever reason.Soooo. Does tarantula poop usually look like small grains of white rice, or should I be concerned?
