Quick update:
My scorpion was fine after i removed the mites and was feeding and acting normally. The mites came back and I left them this time as from above post, today my scorpion is dead.
Went from extremely lethargic with the mites to normality, then back to mites and within a few days it was dead.

Mite species that you find in the soil are harmless, but species that are on the animal can be very harmful parasites. Bummer this happened
