I never experienced that problem, "holding on", as long as what I was feeding was hungry, it ate them. I remove crazy reds and other feeders if what I was feeding didn't eat them. Crickets in general can attack if they sense they aren't in danger, like mice biting a snake that's not hungry. I've even had trouble with A. domesticus when inverts that are normally the predator are molting, then they turn into the prey, little boogers. I've seen the crazy reds display some impressive kicking action too. But, I have the over powering monsters over here, they laugh at it.
