I own a P crassipes and P sp Aussie Goliath, and I had a P sarina until it passed earlier this year from old age.. I treat them as an Asian fossorial species. Deep substrate for a burrow and a water dish. They can be defensive but, if they have a burrow, they tend to retreat to it. Slings can be treated as any other slings. Any specific info you needed?

I live with a roommate who usually has the heat between 70--85 degrees at night is this ok for them?

You said they burrow...are they pet holes?

most burrowers need it humid do these guys?

are they fast growers?

Do they ever have molting issues like T Blondis?

Those temps are fine. If you are comfy, they will be too. My P crassipes is out often, as was my sarina while it lived. I do not see my Aussie Goliath. that often, but individuals will vary. Most of my burrowers, when adult, I just give a water dish and occasionally soak some of the substrate - they don't need it too humid. My sarina grew at a medium pace - my other two I got as sub adults. And I have never had any molt issues with them, but that doesn't mean they never do.

overall, I really like the Phlogius genus, and I plan to get other species from it.

Your spiders will probably love it, but I have to ask,.... how do you sleep in 85 degrees? Jeez man, I'm sweating thinking about it lol.

Later, Tom

These Ts have stronger venom than most Ts so bites should be avoided, however if i were to get bit would the symptoms be as bad as a Pokie bite or worse?

Not to sound like a jerk, but isn't the answer to this question and the ones you asked about general husbandry requirements ones that you should've familiarized yourself with before making the decision to purchase these species?

It is but ive had snakes/tarantulas in the past that I've been bit before by (granted none that could kill me) but bitten before nonetheless. however I already knew before I purchased them that these Ts wouldn't be able to be handled. Since no one is perfect I'm bound to get bit eventually it's not a matter of if but when. Maybe during moving, feeding, etc but it will happen I'm just trying to see what I'll be in for. I'm a very young healthy male with no health problems so I'll get over the bites in due time.

ok I ended up putting in my order with Swiftsinverts. Below is what I'm going to get.....Can I start the two W.S. in Tupperware containers using a lid, peat moss and a soldering iron to put holes in it?

I already know what to do with the P. cambridgei, I had one before.

Thick-foot Whistling Spider
(Phlogius crassipes) 1"

Stent's Whistling Spider (Phlogius sp.
"Stent's") 1"

and for my freebie a 1/2" Trinidad Cheveron (P. cambridgei)!!!
