I have a few H. albostriatum now and was just wondering if this is the correct scientific name now. Also is albostriatus and albostriatum the same species?
That's actually very interesting information, so thank you for sharing! The ending of the species name follows the gender of the genus name. So, yeah, albostriatum and -tus are the same, depending on the genus:
I think it's Cyriopagopus (m, -us ending) albostriatus now, at least the WSC says so.
The -pelma ending in Haplopelma is actually neutrum gender despite the -a suggesting female, (because it's from Greek, not Latin,) so most words describing a characteristic feature as species name should end in -um (neutrum ending). So it was Haplopelma albostriatum. (Same with Brachypelma - and it's Sericopelma generalum, not generala).
Now you know more than you ever wanted to, sorry.
