Where do Emperor Scorpions origenate from?

Im asking this because I've always read and heard that they are from the rainforest of Africa and then I hear from the person at the pet store "petco" that they are from the desert somewhere and then I bought a heat lamp just in case so please tell me

Since just saying "certain regions of Africa" isn't a good answer, I'll now quote Wikipedia:
"It is found in a number of African countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Togo, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal and Sierra Leone.[7]"

People who work in pet stores are generally fools, rather untrustworthy...best advice I could give here, because the localities given above seem accurate...

I'm sure the store employee said they are from the desert because everyone who has ever watched movies knows that scorpions come from the desert. Sadly this is about the extent of most pet store employees' education on the animals they sell. There are exceptions of course, and when you find the exceptions, you should give them your business.
