an another vittaus female gives birth, I am starting to run out of nurseries. Lets see now 1st,2nd,3rd,4th instars and still have more gravid females *sigh* ;P
There are certain months in which certain species are more likely to give birth. I'll look it up in Biology of Scorpions later if you want me to, but i distinctly remember certain species being more apt to give birth at certain times of the year.
If these were wild caught it would make it even more likely that they would retain this. All I know is that the wild C. hentzi populations of 2-3i's, as well as the number of mother's with broods on their backs peaks at a certain time each year, as I have witnessed 3 years in a row first hand.
I also remember there being a few species in the study (there were only like 5-10 species total, and all the research was being done in the wild) that showed no particular months in which births spiked, and was just sort of constant year round.
sorry I am generalizing as so much, i dont remember the exact details and dont feel like digging them up at the moment
Thanks to Kathy, out of the 3 I recieved, one was gravid and has given birth to 14 little ones. You can see there progress here. Any suggestions always welcome. Thanks again Kathy.
