LOL when my grandparents came back from the phillipines (Woo national pride!) They brought back a tub of fried mole crickets. it tasted like shredded crustacean bits! ( Of course, how would I know, i am allergic to crustaceans.):D

It seemed to be a pretty tough invert, tryin' to wrangle itself loose when I had it pinned in a dry leaf. Don't think I'll eat it either. Read they'll eat larvae.

That is the coolest thing I have seen in a long long time. Wow. Why can't I have something cool like that in Oregon?

Hey Ryan,

You should hook up with me when I head back down to the Southwest again next year. You'd be amazed at all of the cool stuff we find down there!

Yeah, mole crickets. We have 'em here in central FL, too. I'm not particularly fond of them...

Thay would be a mole cricket! Im pretty sure that they dont bite. I used to play with those things all the time as a kid. They can usually be found at night. They will kill the heck out of your lawn.

Mole cricket

Looks like a regular cricket that got too close to a nuclear waste dump!

Well i gotta love them because they taste so darn good! Our specie here in the Philippines are rather on the darker side and on certain occassions, they do bite...
