For me, if I want it, money is no object. You only live once.
You got that right......But the question is, Can you afford it??? :p

Most I've spent so far: $125 for 3 GBB slings. I consider it practice at not freaking out when I hit the Pay Now button for an E. olivacea or three!!!

Personally Yes. I spent $2500 on a turbo setup just for my Eagle Talon. Money comes and goes. Crazy?... maybe. But I'm happy and these days that is becoming limited.
Work hard, play hard.

I have had plenty of practice with my car being my first hobby!!:p

LOL....you and me both!!!!! $2500 for turbo bolstering makes sense (especially if you're using standalone engine management on a DSM). But spending $2500 for a bunch of spiders seems a bit silly at first.

True. Imagine eating dinner at a fancy restuarant and mentioning that you spent $2500 on some "Bugs" in one sitting. If anyone is eating at the same time you said that I think someone will be found on the floor choking on a piece of food. That would brinng alot of attention indeed! LOL

That would be quite a sight. Especially when you pull out your new arrivals to show everyone.

Mine is $125 for an A. versicolor female with cage. Or $115 for female GBB.

Goodness, don't you guys make me feel cheap! The most money I have ever spent on a single tarantula was £19 (about $34) for a subadult Avic avic :D, and I probably would not spend more than about £30-35 ($50-60) for any single spider.

My two pricey ones were both Brachys - juvenile smithi for £65 and a drive of about 3 hours - turned out to be female though so whoop whoop! Other one was a beautiful 6 inch female auratum for £70.

Biggest rip off I think was £40 for my A genic whose one and only moult with me was its ultimate one - he's now in the breeding tank in the sky :(

I dropped $105 on a sub-adult Ephebopus cyanognathus ("blue fang"). That was my top. She was worth every penny!
