he basically drumms and as soon as she drums back he runs like hell and DOESNT STOP. If my door was open he'd have been gone.
This made me laugh so hard.

He is just like those nerdy guys that go ask the 'hot' girl out just to say they did it. They already did the analysis and it's statistically impossible for her to say yes. But he's been rejected enough to say, "what the hell, why not?". When she says yes it just blows his mind so running away is only natural.

Note: This is not from personal experience, this does not hit too close to home.

Well, if you have the food and space, geniculata is a jaw dropping display animal. Aim to get a female.

Heyyy ENOGH already!!!!! :p Even my kids tease me:rofl: I know you are joking
He's not joking, he's just mean.:p

overall i havent been too fond of avics, some are definitely on my list, albeit very low on the list. what specific species would you suggest?
If avics aren't your cup of tea I get it, but a versi would be a beautiful addition....great eaters, too.

And what's everyones obsession with P. muticus and T. blondi/stirmi? Do people just really like big brown generic spiders or something?
I'm going to assume you have never seen a P. muticus in person....they're anything but generic brown...their cinnamon brown color is soooooo beautiful, definitely not just your typical generic brown spider.

I see a few holes: Pamphobeteus & Psalmopoeus jump out at me.
Seriously though, these 2 are where you should be looking, you will not be disappointed with either and you may even be able to get a freebie P. cam with a Pamph purchase.

Well Hak my friend, it's hard to know what to recommend because you have all your MUST HAVES, and additional Ts may just be overkill in your mind at some point. Only you would know.

I'll give you some suggestions that I don't believe others have.

I. mira- the only trapdoor Tarantula known to man
H. gabonensis- gorgeous looking, fast, arboreal AND a very challenging species to breed if you like a challenge on the breeding front.
E. sp Red/Yellow- It's my goal to have a world taken over by these perfect dwarfs
H sp Columbia "large"- because who doesn't love TINY 5 mm DLS sling with adult colors already!! Think of them as a dwarf GBB with Halloween colors
Oligoxystre diamantinensis (forget their new genus name, begins with a D I believe)- who doesn't want a mini-GBB but W/OUT the urticating setae!! They actually look a bit different than GBBs re: their abdomen

For Avics, just my opinions

A. metallica - the gentle blue giant
A. sp amazonica - larger than A metallica, cherry red abdomen, white tipped setae, blue backround, straw yellow leg bands !! easy to ID males upon final molt as they lose the CHERRY RED abdomen, while females retain it.
A. versicolor- colors are crazy cool
A. minatrix- the only Avic that maintains the tiger striped abdomen into adulthood

Those are probably my favorites that have a variety of color features to them. There are other Avics that are nice, but are not as varied re color, such as A geroldi or purpurea.

There are always 2-3 vendors at my local monthy show that brings their big adult P. muticus specimens. They are just kinda boring compared to like.... almost every other baboon?

Yeah I do like the versi's, just haven't stumbled across one yet at the conventions.
Conventions and expos seem to be largely terrestrial species with some mixed pokies and such.

It is the big Queen <3 you are talking about. Certainly not boring at all IMO

It's almost always that way, that hasn't changed at all. I doubt it ever will.

Trust me I feel your pain!

I love M. robustum they're awesome to have. You need to have a queen, they're gorgeous!

I'd get these if I had more experience/money:
Chilobrachys fimbriatus
Cyriopagopus schioedtei
Harpactira pulchripes
Love the schioedtei!! Pulchripes is a definite must have and fimbriatus are gorgeous!

I see a glaring lack of Encyocratella olivacea mentioned anywhere in this thread!

Impulsively got a h himalyana...
In other news I came home to a very freshly molted A. Brocklehursti...
He's so pretty, can't wait till his black parts darken up in a day or two.
