What would be the best Brachypelma (hamorii, emilia, boehmei) for someones first tarantula?

Lol I've never consulted my fiancee about getting Ts.. I feel like I shouldn't have to😅 They don't bother other household members in any way and they just sit in one corner and mind their business. Luckily she doesn't care, but she's strongly opposed to me keeping crickets for obvious reasons. Not that I can fault her for that, and I wouldn't keep crickets for more than a day or 2 regardless 😂

Anyhow, if you want something with orange in it, grab yourself a B emilia and thank me later:

Wow I don’t handle them but that’s a wish list t for me eventually. All the colors less the skittishness?
 anniversary, xmas and birthdays(yours) are an easy way to add a few more ts
Yeah and 10-20 Ts isn’t much harder then keeping one. It’s going above that 20 number is a little harder for some like me. I got 11 . For many here 30+ ain’t nothing..

He's not worried about any Ts getting out or anything, it's just a space thing. He did say though that we should get a shelf or something to put jumping spiders and Ts on.
There's just sadly not a lot of room in the house.. I wish I could just have one dedicated room for my critters lol

Also, your B. emilia is gorgeous 😍 at the moment, I'm leaning towards either a B. emilia or a B. auratum.. or both if I can get away with it 😂

One trip to any hardware store can fix that .. unless you need fancier shelf’s . I’m just limited to how many adult tanks I can fit . Which isn’t a lot . 11 is fine for now, sure I’ll eventually get more even if it’s not this year. It’s a cake walk comparing to having 40+ of them. Which imo isn’t that hard til they’re big.last time I had this many spiders was high school. Plenty for now atleast no rush to get a bigger number . :D

When my daughter gifted me one of the T's on my wishlist for christmas, I was so happily surprised. Her repsonse was, "Well you really didn't make it sound like any gift would be acceptable that wasn't a spider."

emilia and hamorii tend to flick less than boehmei. In my experience emilia are the calmest, but your results may vary

Any of them, honestly. Although if you're looking at temperament, I'd say B. emilia is probably the most chill in my experience. My hamorii and boehmei both flick hairs a lot more often.

Yeah I got lasiodora parahybana as a beginner and a few pokies back in 04 or so. Don’t count it out of the running!! The pokies no don’t .. too soon. Salmon pink is calling .. sadly it prob isn’t colorful enough to be a winner 🥇 .

IMO any brachy is a good choice (have almost all except baumgarteni). Klaasi is my favorite, but thats personal preference.
May I ask what makes klaasi your favorite? Physical looks, or? I am on the fence on getting some slings, havent kept them before and I enjoy the genus :) Curious your take on this sp.

I'll go ahead and give some more love for emilia, IMO they are the prettiest of all brachys with albiceps just behind (that said, auratum is the only brachy I don't own, so I can't comment on how that one looks IRL). Unfortunately my own emilia is very reclusive and hides a lot, though many do seem to report otherwise. It's certainly a treat whenever she does come out.

Just personal preference. When they're freshly molted the pink on black really pops. I said favorite, but it's an extremely small margin. I love all Brachypelmas 😆

I’d put l klugi up there with these Mexican Ts In coloration that I prefer , although it’s just a sad Brazilian t . Wandering around in its cage hunting prey. Wont seem to fit the molt of a pet rock I expected. Think it fell asleep hanging on the glass . Mexican Fireleg was still my favorite despite the hair kicking. And the klugi didn’t kick any hairs during its double rehouse . Hard to pick just1.

The easiest way to get your SO to not be upset bout getting another T is getting them into the hobby. A month and a half ago I started eyeing Grammostola Pulchripes. Her response:"No way am I getting a tarantula in our house."

Fast forward a few weeks of watching Dave's little beasties and Tom's big spiders on YouTube and she told me to get a G.Pulchripes. That same day, she had me get her an Avicularia Avicularia. Our last spider unboxing consisted of a B.Hamorii and G.Pulchra for her and a G.Iheringi for me.

The Hamorii is a little skittish juvenile but never kicked hairs even when moving into his enclosure. Fair warning, he was a bit fast, though not as fast as the Iheringi whom we were going to name Ming, and ended up being Flash.

My BF thinks Ts are cool, he was actually the first one to ever say he wanted one, but he didn't know much about them. I got a jumping spider, and then a week later I was learning about Ts, I guess it was my gateway haha.
I ended up buying a sling B. emilia, who's been super sweet, that was a couple weeks ago.. and just a couple days ago I went and bought a sling B. hamorii, who also seems sweet, but definitely a little more skittish. When my BF came home he was annoyed. He's mainly worried about where I'm going to put them when my cat moves into his house (I'm not moved into his house, but I've been living here for over a month) so a lot of my stuff is still at my mom's, including my cat. I have ideas of what I want to do with them so they're safe from my cat, we just need to figure out the best way to do it I guess. Once that happens, I'll be able to get more of them. He's actually said he would like a really big tarantula, so he's definitely open to it, it's just a space & cat thing haha

I have three adult cats and one very rambunctious kitten, none of them.go near my enclosures thankfully. I keep them in a cabinet in their enclosures, that has the door taken off. The kitten does like to attack my bag of sphagnum moss but that's about it.
