My son had been begging and begging for a T and I wasn't having any part of it. Then I offered to get him one if he did all his homework for an entire school year. He did it, and we bought a rosie sling 2 days into summer break.

That was about 10 years ago and the rosie has since died, but I now have a decent collection. What can I say? I love all of my Ts!

First T was today, a juvenile Nhandu chromatus, 3rd instar? Not very sure have to check again. And i now name him, Joe :). Reason for getting joe was bcos i had to have variety in my pets instead of always having scorpions. Also bcos Joe is beautiful, will grow into a nice large size and i love (not sure of its sex but lets go with male) him. Plus joe is cute, for now.

Its true... I hate spiders. Gawd help me I hate 'em. I go on spider patrol in my crawlspace at least every month. I get the heebie jeebies for hours after walking into a spider web. I don't wanna touch 'em, I don't wanna nuzzle 'em, nothing.

But T's are absolutely beautiful. I love the colors and patterns on some of them. They're also the perfect for the neglectful pet owner (not that the cat isn't cool, but he's demanding as hell sometimes!). :
That is the oddest (and coolest) thing ever! Hate spides but love T's....unusual to say the least! Although I guess I can kind of see why...T's are so big and soft and pretty they're not really even like spiders in some ways.

My first was an adult male G. rosea. My uncle thought it would be a nice "thank-you" for being the ring bearer in his wedding. He showed up one day with a KK containing a RCF rosie and a nametag that said "Hello, my name is: Harry Connick, Jr." He passed away about 5 months later.

Well, it all started when the kid and his girlfriend were looking for a rental and she mentioned she wanted something that allowed pets. I asked what kind of pet she was thinking about and she responded, “a tarantula.” I knew I was going to like her. Two months later something special sat under the x-mas tree. The kid was freaked and she was a little uncertain. At that time I am sure she was second guessing if she really wanted to be joining this family. It was a beautiful 1.5” B. smithi, which is now about 4” in leg span. Both madly adore it but are disappointed that it will max out at ~6”.

I was quite taken with the beauty and decided I wanted a T of my own. I did not want to duplicate what I got them so I ordered a G. pulchra from Ken the Bug Guy who sent me a fabulous 1.5”, perfect black beauty in Feb. It just recently molted to a 3” leg span.

Well, I guess I have been bit. I recently ordered a 0.25” L. Klugi from Kelly Swift who also enclosed a L. parahybana. Now the hubbie and I, as well as the kids, will get to watch giant beasties grow.

Oh, and there is a reptile/invert show in 2 weeks – I will be in attendance. So will the kids.

My first T was a B. smithi about .75 inches, she was adorable :) I was on youtube and came across Jon3800 channel. I saw his T's and I was hooked. He inspired me to get into the hobby. I got a B. smithi because they were docile to keep and great for beginners...and they have awesome colors, thats always a plus :)
