Then dont look!! to each there own.... do you think your T really cares whats it's in? as long as it has adequte room then so be it. the glass tanks are for your pleasure not theres......................................Show it some respect and dignity. Get it a PROPER GLASS TANK, and decorate it with fake plants and corkbark.
I cant stand seeing people using plastic jars. its horrible....
Umm, ok? Plastic Jars are way more efficient then glass tanks. For one, people with hundreds and hundreds of Tarantulas can't keep alot of glass tanks and plus they are cheaper.Show it some respect and dignity. Get it a PROPER GLASS TANK, and decorate it with fake plants and corkbark.

I'll let people jump all over you like a fat kid on a smartee...but why are jars so bad?Show it some respect and dignity. Get it a PROPER GLASS TANK, and decorate it with fake plants and corkbark.

dang, so all those babies and molts in plastic jars must have been bad... just really REALLY hard to tell?Show it some respect and dignity. Get it a PROPER GLASS TANK, and decorate it with fake plants and corkbark.

you're right & indeed a sling doesnt need a glass tank, maybe when it grows you can rehouse it in a good enclosure, but for a sling among a year or a little more a plastic jar is ok. :razz:dang, so all those babies and molts in plastic jars must have been bad... just really REALLY hard to tell?
yet another example of someone with no basis in science.
you can certainly say that you find your glass tanks with that stuff in it more aesthetically pleasing... but for functionality plastic jars have been working amazingly well for me.
oh yeah, last year i produced something like 500-600 babies in like 15 genera. how about you?
no, i mean i PRODUCED babies with mothers in plastic jars. i have mature and almost mature tarantulas in small plastic containers or jars. they eat and molt and breed fine. and as eating, molting, and breeding are the only real criteria we can judge the success of our endeavors with (everything else being subject and probably anthropomorphizing) i would say my method is pretty damn goodyou're right & indeed a sling doesnt need a glass tank, maybe when it grows you can rehouse it in a good enclosure, but for a sling among a year or a little more a plastic jar is ok.

look, i don't have any problem with people saying *they* prefer a "done up" cage that is 5 or 10 gallons... but what i DO have problems with is saying it is better for the spider. that is clearly not the case for many species.
i have the same problem going in there. usually i go in, grab what i need and go. if not, well...you know what happens.138, i already get the Amac Clear Cubes from a store closer to my house. However, i checked the link for the 82oz containers! Those are great and so cheap too!! Okay, now i have to be not so lazy and just drive down there. i guess i should consider myself lucky and can just drive down and pick up whatever i want. i also have to be careful that i don't go to crazy in that store because i am one who tends to be a little obsessive about organization and everything matching... i go crazy in that store because there are so many options and now that i've got T's again i have an excuse to go back! Thanks for those links! jules
