Whichever freebies come with the MFs that you buy! :)

That's how I am doing. I only have 2 G.rosea, and I wanted a native North American species. So, I bought a mature female A.hentzi, and she is coming with a free H.maculata s'ling. Yay!

A G. pulchra.

First Tarantula I ever wanted, and now I have six (slings yes, but still). With sling prices down to 25-20 each, it's a great way to learn to take care of a sling and also end up with a long term awesome spider :)

I'd say everyone at least have to have one of these in their collection. l. violaceopes, gbb, p. irminia and e. cyanognathus. They are all pretty stunning tarantulas in the hobby.

It depends on what your criteria is for 'must have'.........

If you are going for T's that are most recognized, i would say a B. smithi, since the species has been in so many movies. Also, G. pulchra, because it is the classic 'big black' spider.
Agreed. Hands down - G. pulchra, they are great T's. And smithi's are, well, classic. ;)

For me, G. rosea is a species I've enjoyed owning - out of all the T's from my ex-collection, it's the species I miss most.
