I was thinking a G. rosea, but others say B. smithi... what do you think needs to be in every T collection?

In alphebetical order, here's my list of what I believe to be the basic essential T collection:

Acanthoscurria geniculata
Avicularia avicularia
Avicularia versicolor
Brachypelma smithi
Chromatapelma cyaneopubescens
Cyclosternum fasciatum
Cyriocosmius elegans
Grammostola rosea
Haplopelma lividum
Heteroscodra maculata
Lasiodora parahybana
Poecilotheria regalis
Psalmopoeus irminia
Pterinochilus murinus RCF
Stromatapelma calciatum

A good mix of OWs, NWs, terrestrials, and arboreals. From there, things get more expensive, harder to find, or difficult in care, but worth it!!

Others to consider:
Eucratoscleus pachypus
Holothele incei
Hysterocrates gigas
Poecilotheria metallica
P. miranda
P. subfusca
Tapinauchenius gigas
Theraphosa blondi
Xenesthis immanis

I think B. vagans is an awesome T's preety aggresive will eat anytime anything i wouldnt recommend handling as it randomly flicks hair sometimes:p
grows preety fast and gets to a descent size, not too many collours but black is jet black and the red is really bright, easy to take care off.
Pokies are also really cool T'sbut mine are just slings so i wont go into more details about them,im just gonna say theyr allways a must:p

1 stunning calm T to handle, like a B. emilia for example.

1 big T to impress people. LP fits the bill and not tricky to keep like T. blondi.

1 cool pet hole but one that you see legs of at least most of the time. E. murinus works for that.

1 arboreal. Any of the pokies work (big fan of P. regalis) or P. pulcher for example. Nothing wrong with A. metallica either.

Just MHO of course.

It depends on what your criteria is for 'must have'.........

If you are going for T's that are most recognized, i would say a B. smithi, since the species has been in so many movies. Also, G. pulchra, because it is the classic 'big black' spider.

I feel everyone should have a G. pulchripes, but when I hear "every T enthusiast" I include the beginners..

My list:
A. geniculata for pure beauty
C. cyaneopubescens for beauty and webbing
P. regalis for cool looking

A list is impossible, but I like this guide.
A few nice displays beats a room full of jars every time.

It is very disappointing that nobody voted L. violaceopes,
But it is also honoring that I'm the first one voting for it!

AF L. violaceopes is a must.
