A friend of mine had a T blondi and I just loved how graceful and deliberate their movements were plus I used to catch native true spiders when I was younger. But my very 1st tarantula was a Brachypelma albopilosum named spike he was a freebie from the same friend

I was 5 or 6 years old and it was a 2 inch b smithi. what a beast that was to me then. The biggest spider I had seen in person at the time. The interest has only progressed into an obsession.

I started in scorpions but the obt dragged me over to Ts (although I grew up with Lycosidae and Latrodectus).
