We found this on the front of our house. I asked on reddit and it's thought to be an Aphonoplema Atomicum? Not sure, but if it was (since they're newly identified; 2016).

Who would I send the specimen to if I safely caught it?

It doesn't look like a tarantula to me. How big is it?

Maybe you've better luck posting your picture here: http://arachnoboards.com/forums/true-spiders-other-arachnids.12/
If it was a tarantula you would've to post the picture in the appropriate gallery here: http://arachnoboards.com/gallery/categories/tarantula-identification.11/

Out of curiosity, why would you want to send the spider away? If you don't want to keep it leave it outside and let it go on with its life.
You are correct in that it isn't a tarantula. The photo is so poor that an accurate identification won't be possible, but enough can be seen to determine it is not a tarantula. For instance, the tarsi are too pointed and there is no discernible hairiness to it.

Off to the True Spiders and Other Arachnids forum we go...

Not sure of the size but if I had to guess I'd gamble on it being Kukulcania arizonica. They have been ranging as far north as Las Vegas lately. In fact you could find them as far north as Salt Lake City. In 2010, while doing field research in Utah, we found several Brachypelma hamorii. They might have been there because owners just let some go in the wild and they survived but either way they're there now. Same thing with Aphonopelma chalcodes. We're finding them far further north than in the past.
