What should I name my Chilean Rose Hair Tarantula?

I recently picked up my very first Tarantula, a common Chilean Rose Hair. I went to an event called "Reptile Rally" where all the reptiles, arthropods, and arachnids were 50% off and they were letting everyone hold the snakes, lizards, and other creatures.

The funny thing was, I was the only person who handled the Tarantulas and the Scorpions, everyone there was freaked by them, but somehow, they were ok with having an 8 ft red tail boa around their neck haha. Anyway... I decided to get myself a Tarantula but am thinking of a name for her, any suggestions? I want it to be something unique!

lol.. congrats on the pick up, and welcome to the hobby/addiction.
If your asking for UNIQUE names here, i would imagine you wont be getting any.. People will just be spouting off names of THEIR ts... How about you just name it rosie?

No not at all its just they have G. rosea with pink and without. I'm not sure if its a he/she because I never seen the ventral shot or the molt itself but I called it a she because I hope you do get a she because they live longer. You should post a pic maybe I'll come up with a name you should help me out with a name for my B. baumgarteni I want it to resemble her flames. Click on the link a pic of her is in there.

Yeah I saw a few example pictures and a video on Youtube about trying to sex chilean rose hairs and all I know is the males are suppose to be more pinkish or reddish and their abdomen is suppose to be a bit skinnier and they have longer legs.

I'm pretty sure mine is a female, as she is all brown, very bulky, but who knows? I'll be posting pictures of him/her when I get my good camera, I'm just trying to let her settle in first.

if thats all your basing your sexing knowledge off of you could be in for a MAJOR surprise when it has a potential maturing molt. Those characteristics (minus the coloring.. thats a whole different characteristic entirely) are of a MATURE MALE.. yours could just be a sub adult male...
need an exuvium to be 100% sure, but a good ventral photo could get you a good idea toward the sex. coloration and size mean little to nothing.. Not doubting that yours is female, but nobody can give you a guess toward sex without seeing the two things i just mentioned

Yeah I understand that sexing tarantulas is almost impossible unless you look at their molt, and males don't live nearly as long. However, I think regardless this will be a good experience for me. She's fairly big, but I will take pictures of mine so you can have a better look, as I may be wrong.

even if you dont have a GOOD camera, try posting a pic.. rosie CAN be sexed a lil easier off looks alone (IMO) but i wouldnt BET on it being 100% accurate.

Luckily I own a camera with very high resolution that I use for my art page, I've taken pictures of my birds and cats with it and the quality is well.

DEM ROMAN NUMERALS

im iffy on that vid... Ive seen tons of pics of a fresh molted female rosea and the carapace is bright pink/purple/coppery color as well.. also, abdomen size is basically moot IMO.. feedings, dehydration , etc could play a big part. If i watched the vid on silent i would have sexed them correctly SOLELY off VISUAL images, but i have a bit more experience than somebody newer in the hobby.. i have seen both, own a female, and have paired rosea as well.
Color has little to nothing to do with sex either as far as i know... Im sure m and f are dimorphic slightly UPON A MALES MATURING MOLT, but as far as i know there are 3 diff variety/ color forms of G. rosea
NCF - normal/grayish color form
PCF - pink color form
RCF - red color form

i would think that the creator of that vid has a ncf female , and a pcf male.
