Planted tank! With crabs my dude!
Got any pics of your planted tanks with crabs? looking for ideas. This enclosure is still yet to be filled as I couldn't decide what to put in it last year. Do they need a pool of water to submerge in or just enough to keep them moist?

Hey sorry for the very delayed response, I have been battling this illness!

But yes Ill post the current photos of the tanks as of today.

And yes Geosesarma should have an adequate waters section, deep enough to fully submerge and molt in, but not deep like as in a fish tank, the inhabit and utilize streams with very small little pools or spaces under rocks. It does not have to be fancy at all as ive done with my bigger show-off tanks (first photo below).

The best way, and also probably the cheapest, is to use deep-er food storage cups that stack inside eachother; then this allows you to have a "more permanent" cup stay firmly in place in the tank while the other on top/inside of that one can be taken out if needed to clean etc; This is actually how I like to do all my grow out tanks for the crablets. It allows me to not have to deal with having water logged soils, or stinky unhealthy water/soil, if doing just sloped soils into pool type set ups and ,for me, makes these tubs scaleable and easy to set up.

Annecdote: I used this method with two of these water cups in opposite corners of a tank with 4 male Geosesarma, and by using cover strategically to block line-of-sight I never had any males fighting for territory.

Heres some of the planted tanks:

(Today) (These use fully installed water sections with a much larger and wider footprint. IMG_1642.jpeg
