Some species of aphaenogaster are solitary foragers. Look it up. I'm sure there are others as well.

I think he means solitary as in the ant spends its whole life alone like some species of bee's and wasps.

Not solitary foragers, plenty of those. :)

Looking back at the question, I think you were right Ant Worker, he did mean a completely solitary ant. I've never heard of anything like that either.

I'm trying to be fair! I don't want to encourage him to be rude. If he wants to stick around and be civil with everyone, by all means he's welcome. Otherwise....

lol no true ant spends its entire life alone. ;*) Unless a kid takes it out of its home and keeps it alone for its life. But that doesnt really count. :*)
