What is this (feeder) bug? And how can I keep a colony?

But users above said, they can't contaminate a house.
I'm sure there are areas of the world where B lats can be a real nuisance. I was responding to someone in the US living in Virginia -- where I am from.
If B lats are an infestation problem where you live -- I would avoid keeping them there.

B lateralis is not a species capable of infesting a home, as a reference to said claim. The book For the Love of Cockroaches states lateralis is not a pest species.

Gotta get some reason up in here.

I recently culled a colony of these roaches in my hermit crab habitat. I know they're just bugs but I had trouble not gagging.

:yuck:...Oh this is that demons that i used to slap with a flip flops everytime i see one back in the day! This is a common pest where i came from. You can find them everywhere. One night i was sleeping i felt something tickling my face, and out of reflexes i slapped it, waking up with the smell of hell and sticky insides of this creature in my face. Force to go shower around 2am in the morning...

Indeed, B.lateralis can't infest houses, they just live around them, and often wander indoors, like Periplaneta.
