What is the most beautiful pokie in your opinion? I vote for the blue gooty, but i've seen pics of other pokies that are pretty gorgeous. Like the male Poecilotheria rufiliata. or the P. subufsca with their sweet yellow splattered legs.

IMO it's the P. subfusca, although P. ornata can look pretty hot too. Not a huge fan of P. metallica myself.

I don't judge them based on pics. So based on what I have personally seen and/or own.

P. ornata

I like my adult female tigrinawesseli, when she molted she had the most starkly contrasting black/white with a very prurple sheen. Runner up to her is my subfusca when she is freshly molted. These are are of course totally biased as I dont own ornata.....lol. ALL pokies are truly gorgeous, no joke. There cant be a "most beautiful" pokie, but my favorite to look at goes in this order;
P. tigrinawesseli
P. subfusca
P.metallica (I see more adult pmets than subfusca...every1 has 1)
P. ornata
The best thing for everyone to do is buy every availible sp of Poecilotheria and then decide.....= P

I think P. tigrinawesseli, is likely a stunningly beautiful pokie. Unfortunatly I have not personally seen one with my own eyes.

The glistening emerald green highlighted by orange and hints of yellow, with black on white chevron patterns of a freshly molted P. ornata.
No camera could possibly capture the sheer beauty of such a sight, something that has to be seen to comprehend.

I might be quite unique in this but I am also kinda fond of P. penderseni. It likely won't get any votes for most beautiful but they just have that something about them. I though it was worth mentioning.

For the record before I got into ornata's. My favorite was striata.

Dude, I can't believe you all are saying anything besides metallica. That's the most beautiful spider I've ever seen. Guess I need to spend some more time with the others.

The female ornata is my fav. I'm partial to green anyway since I'm Irish. ;)

Yes. I agree that P. metallica is a beautiful. The ones I have seen though are metallic blue with a hint of yellow at the second leg joint and a pale chevron pattern on the abdomen. A stunning spider indeed.

To put it another way. P. metallica is like Beethovens 9th, a magnificent masterpiece, I enjoy it myself.
Many of the other pokies are like something with drums or bass guitar. Their stark contrasts mixed with subtle mixtures of a wide variety of colors. Including blue just not to that extent, also orange, violet, red, and green. Dependent upon species as to which colors and combination of each. They all have certain amounts of yellow.

That is why I said; P. ornata. I don't own a P. metallica, but have seen many. I however have not personally seen P. rufilata, from what I can seen in pics. It just might rival or beat P. ornata.

No votes for formosa? Very sexy spidey IMO
You know, I have those high dollar Pokes and I still think my formosa out shines them all. In fact I am a little disappointed in some of those highenders
I have. If not for the rarity of them they wouldnt command the prices they do. Out of the high enders P metallica looks the best IMO however you dont see that blue unless it is under good lighting. In a dark tank they look like a typical black/gray Poke just like H lividium which thge blue is also quite subdued unless under proper lighting.

P metallica closely followed by P subfusca. Some subs. have a beautiful deep purple on the abdomen, makes for great contrast.

P. ornata and P. rufilata are my favorites...the ruffies are at the top of the list though...one of mine is just starting to get her adult colors and she's simply stunning...

don't get me wrong i love blue spiders...H. lividum and C. sp. Blue are both spiders i've owned and loved...but P. metallica to me is just plain gaudy...ever been to Graceland? P. metallica is the spider Elvis would have had, had Elvis been a T keeper:)
