I bought a wild caught female curly hair and she laid a egg sac. I don’t know what to do, leave it with the mother or incubate it. It has been 2 weeks since she laid it. thank you in advance
This is up to you personally. I'd take the eggsac from the mother at 30 days and incubate it. But leaving it with her is okay to, but note that separating and finding all the baby slings is going to be a really hard challenge since they will be all over the enclosure and some slings will burrow down. Also note that if you leave the eggsac with the mom until they hatch, make sure that any ventilation holes is not big enough for the slings to escape or you'll have to find them in your room/home.
I think the preference is often to leave it with mum, since she really is the best caretaker. However, people have run into issues where the egg sac has been eaten, or dumped in the water dish, and that has made them wary of letting her keep it the entire duration of incubating.
Also, she will not eat or drink while caring for them. If the eggs are viable, then it is worth it, but if the eggs are duds then there is no point to her not taking care of her needs. Egg production is extremely taxing on their bodies and they need sustenance. Taking away the sac allows her to recover earlier.
You have to weigh all the pros and cons to both scenarios and decide for yourself.
I leave egg sacs with the females. If they destroy it, there is a good reason even if we humans don't know it.
As was mentioned, make sure the female's enclosure is proofed against sling escapes. When I see 2i slings, I deconstruct the enclosure so I can put each sling into their own condiment cup.
