Ladybirds don t have significant predators. Some birds, spiders, insects, etc. do eat them, but always only in small numbers with neglectable effects on their populations. What species do You have problem with ?

Some birds do not eat them because if they had one taste, then they no not to eat them every again (they taste horrible). But some birds such as swallows and certain martins are used to eating them. ;)
Birds do not have a sense of taste.

whats annoying about them? :s
Seems You never have to deal with ladybird infestation :D
Sometimes they get into buildings in high nubers and then they bite, stink, cause stains on walls and furniture and people generaly don t like idea of hundreds insects crawling in their house. While I think that ladybirds have more positives than negatives, they can be be really annoying. (Most of problems are caused just by one invasive species.)

Birds do not have a sense of taste.
They do, weak but do.
There were nice experiments with colored ladybirs and birds. Birds were offeren brown painted ladybirds so birds coldn t react to their natural aposematic coloration. Birds took painted ladybirds into beak but then spit them out.

Gotcha! I can see how that would be annoying and no it isn't something I've ever experienced before, we get large numbers of them in the summer in England but never anywhere near that extent.

Megabucks in their artificial environment far removed from the natural ecosystem voices the complaint constantly: "What good are those animals. Let them go extinct. Besides, I find them annoying. Technology will provide all I need, and here on my foofed golf course/high rise, I'm all that matters. Somebody call Monsanto and tell them to hurry up with their pesticides. Destroy those natural environments so I don't have to put up with annoying bees and bugs. Get the lobbyists to shut the conservationists up."
And the litany goes on, becoming a dirge at a funeral procession for life on the planet. And the ivory tower folks never realize there is only one animal entirely expendable.

I got a ration from my brother two days ago. How do I stand having cobras, tarantulas and scorpions running wild all over our property, inside and out? Dear brother, they were here first. I'm just a guest. If I was to get involved in their lives, morally speaking my role must be one of stewardship.

Annoying is washing all produce along with the dishes, using dish soap and rinsing a half dozen times in filtered water. Desperately searching the markets trying to find something green with bug munches. If a zillion ladybugs want to take over our house, have at it. Join the sparassids cruising the floors and those danged Lychas Mucronatus hanging out on the door knobs. I'll find some way to cope.

See here for a discussion of the sense of taste in various bird species. In short, birds do have a sense of taste, it varies from species to species depending on diet, and in most birds the ratio of taste bud number to bite size is higher than that of most mammals (because bird bite sizes are so small).

After the usual nightly slaughter, the Myna's come out at dawn to enjoy their buffet. The frogs are gone in an instant, the toads remain on the roads untouched forever, becoming fossilized amphibian frisbees. Garter snakes incite battle royals, the antagonists sometimes so intent on the delicacies, becoming road pancakes in their own right, while the venomous snakes are ignored.
As entertainment, I throw the non polluting garbage off the balcony into the neighbors yard. The Mynas carefully pick out the choicest tidbits, leaving the yukky offal for the rats with the ants finishing the daily clean up, devouring all.
It's more than obvious the animals not only have a sense of taste, and smell, but are also highly developed connoisseurs. Perhaps it is the refined sensory ability of the garbage truck of the bird world that has made the Myna so successful a survivalist?

the only ideas that come to mid are possibly mantids( more likely to eat other insects, you could try ordering an egg case) or a green parasitic fungus that specializes on ladybugs (likely too impractical though)

There are a number of ladybug pathogens, but the op doesn't want to deal with that (even if for some reason they think they do).

Do you get lady bugs in your house like I used to? It was so fun when I was a kid doing homework and lady bugs would just be flying around. I really love lady bugs so I never minded but I know how annoying it is to sweep up loads of dead lady bugs every day. I mean they really came in storms.
