thats awesome. The fort worth zoo is better in my opinion, but haven't been to a zoo in a while, especially after that gorrilla escaped from the dallas zoo.
I'll have to check it out. I really need a vacation. I enjoy hitting all the shops out of town. We don't have really any anymore. 10 years ago there were probally 30 pet stores in the Memphis area. Now we bow down to PetCo. Well some do. I guess the mayor can only run down a city soo bad. Any suggestions for Pet stores in Dallas?

I'm from the northeastern part of Iowa and had a friend that went to southern Texas to visit some family. I'm not sure which town exactly but I know it was south. She caught mine near the woods out back of her family's house. This was this past july. Hasn't molted yet. She's probably 4" or so. Hopefully she comes back out of her burrow to enjoy some nice tasty crickets!

See, I was wondering if it had something to do w/ the time of year. I know that it's gotton cold here(I live in N. Mississippi) and I thought that might have triggered something. Het rump is still fat. It's weird when I caught it, it's butt was like smaller than its body. Now its normal, I think when I found it, it was looking for food or love, hell maybe both.
I live on the MS gulf coast. I keep heat source on them when it gets cold. They seem to like it.

I live here in West Texasand last spring I caught about 5 or 6 T Anax's all male at around the size you mentioned. The females usually stay right there with their burrow's from what I've found, or at least my female did. At 3" he/she should have pedipalps and "hooks", at least most of mine did. My males didn't live all that long either, I lost my last one about 3 weeks ago after having him about 8 mo. or so. I'm not too upset about his loss though, it's getting that time of the year again, good ole road trips w/ cages and coolers!!!

I do too, but I know that they have a cycle too. I thought that might play in to it.

He doesn't have the hooks. I thought he was a male too because of the wandering, but at the same time it had flooded in that area and there were more rains coming. I also heard that hornets run them out sometimes. So no hooks or "boxing gloves", I hope it's a female!! I'm looking forward to my summer road trips. I keep a case ao different size deli-cups and bags in my Jeep.

Good luck on getting a female, mine is a little more irritable than my Cb's. After her last molt she was beautiful at about 4-4 1/2 in.
