Hello! I was just wondering what all of you guys feed your scorpion. I am deciding if I should switch to roaches (Dubai or turkistan?) cuz crickets are loud noisy smelly and can't get them to breed after many failures.

So basically, the question is, Do you feed them roaches? Have you had any experience with turkistan? Thanks!

Mostly crickets for nearly all of my scorpions.
Exclusions to this are Euscorpius italicus that prefers wasps / yellowjackets or mealworms.
And the adult H troglodytes also doesn't care much about crickets, it's only satisfied with the largest of grasshoppers.
To breed crickets i use most of the tips in this video:
The netting covering the soil is important because adult crickets will eat cricket eggs.
I ended up loosing nearly all eggs when trying it without the netting.
Also the temperature is pretty critical.
When they are really noisy you know the temperature for breeding is correct, they will be more silent when it's a bit too cold.
If you use enough vermiculite as a substrate it doesn't smell.
Use a system of multiple breeding boxes that are in separate breeding stages to spread out several strategies.
I feed my crickets dry cat food and sometimes a piece of potato or carrot.
The excess of crickets go off to someone near me keeping bearded dragons, those reptiles love 'em.

I switched to dubia roaches about a year and a half ago and it was the best decision I could have made, I just wish I had done it sooner. The only downside is that they breed so much faster than my scorpions can eat them so I've had to get more pets to keep up .

Crickets and meal worms. Roaches can be hit or miss with some species.

I trust your judgement with my older scorpion she eats whenever I had previously just bought crickets and then tossed the meal worms in and let them burrow and when I run outta crickets I get bettles I've read not to leave the food in the cage? And also how often do I feed the baby will crickets harm my scorpion what's the deal with that. I had just tossed stuff in for a year and left it was that bad?

They can harm and likely kill them when they molt. You don't want to leave any kind of feeders in there for more than 24 hours.

Turkistan roaches are awesome. They constantly move about, don't dig and hide and breed very easily.
