what cant millipedes eat?

Hiiii so i was wondering what shouldnt u feed your millipede like are there any specific fruits or vegetables that might harm them?

Avoid Foie Gras....not due to the "ethics," or nonsense of that sort, but because it's they just don't seem to appreciate it.

Millipedes like most creatures won't eat anything that might harm themselves.

Give them more credit, it's the human race that's the stupid ones on this planet.

I've heard to avoid citrus, but I'm not entirely sure why. Most fruits and veggies should be fine, although they may or may not like certain kinds. Mine are not huge fans of carrot, despite it being perfectly fine for them to eat.

Not necessarily food, but I was recently informed that coco fibre substrate isnt good for them. It was the first substrate I bought for mine because the bag said it was suitable for millipedes, but it turns out it can inflate their stomachs and kill them

The statement that Coco fibre kills millipedes is a load of B'S.
The only possible time it could cause problems is when there is nothing else available for the millipedes to eat, and that is the only time a millipede would attempt to eat Coco fibre in an attempt to obtain some goodness from all that's available.

I've kept millipedes on Coco fibre for years with no issues.
They don't eat it out of choice - would you ??

Sure, they'll be more likely to eat it if there is nothing else edible in their container, but that doesn't mean they WON'T eat it. These are the same animals that are known to nibble at whatever they're standing on just because they want to know what it is. Just because you haven't had any problems with coir doesn't make it safe. Why take the risk? Get some good quality flake soil/topsoil/wood pellet substrate and avoid the whole mess altogether. The fact is that there have been people that have had millipedes become impacted due to eating coir. Personally, if you have literally any other substrate available, it would probably be better to go with that. Not to mention the prices on coir lately that make it much more cost effective to pick up some natural topsoil, wood pellets, etc.
