Ahhh I much prefer slayer! Of course, I am but a child, a mere speck in destiny's eye when both bands were emerging.... (Was that incorrect use of an apostrophe by the way?)

But you're editing skills owned my feeble effort :/

Give me random-out-of-key solos though in comparison to the same boring pentatonic-mindless-wah ones of kirk hammet. Of course I prefer other guitaring to all... *Kind of off topic...

haha

Hey MizM,

I can see your A. metallica cut its hair too, and what is that that gives the T its dark color, is that eye make-up?

JK, both metallicas rock, just one more than the other now. :)

To get back the topic, does anyone else have a thought on what kind of Avic we are looking at here?

Wondering where this info comes from – do you have any reliable source for that statement?

all the best,

Just the dealers that I deal with Martin. I know that there are all these possibilities that A. metallica is just a synonym for A. avicularia, but for all intents and purposes, at this time anyway, it's considered a seperate species on this side of the pond. I'm not saying that taxonomically speaking that there's any difference. :)

this kinda has nothing to do with the topis anyway nice edit mizm but im gonna have to agree with defiler here slayer is way harder than metallica is the only hard albums metallica ever put out where kill em all ride the lightning and justice for all and master of puppets after that metallica sold out big time where as slayer has never sold out unless you think of undisputed attitude which kinda sucked but i respect both bands cause they have surpassed the times and are still making music

If it's from a dealer, IMHO the info is as much worth and reliable as me or anyone else would claim A. metallica don't have white hair tips. ... Who would be right, who would be wrong? =;-P
There's such a thing as taking your disdain of the state of accurate tarantula taxonomy in the trade too far. Whatever is in the pet trade as A. metallica, even if it's a previously undescribed Avicularia species or a transplant from the spider planet hiding behind Pluto, clearly has distinctive white tipped setae and that is what gets used to tell if your Avic is a "real" A. metallica (because there's sure not much else you're going to be able to distinguish it with). So, I don't have a clue whether A. metallica as described has white tipped setae mentioned or not, but the pet trade A. metallica sure does. And since the pet trade is not a taxonomy publication, it doesn't much matter from the p.o.v. of you trying to get what is always pictured as A. metallica in your collection - which was the whole point of this thread.

It dosen't sound like the Avic that this thread was started for have been identified yet. I know some people are thinking A. metallica, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Deifiler, do you have any other pics of this T that you can post?
