I keep my crickets in a plastic container and one day after that i saw a lot of small flies flying around inside. What are they?? Housefly?? Will they polute my house?
if i'm not mistaken its Knats, are you feeding your crickets? because when I was keeping crickets and feed them fresh leafy greens those Knats were freeloadings. If it is Knats it will be a pain because they reproduce so fast. Keep the environment dry and their reproduction can be stopped. Hope it helps
Probably Phorid Flies. Go thru your cricket cage and remove the dead. That is what they feed on. They also must have moisture to survive as well so dry the cage.
BTW Dude, You need to make your "cricket tank" and "fly" posts in the Insect forum. This is for scorpion discussion
I saw the post of phorids... they seem like they are large enough to have a clearly visible body... Is this true? I have many tiny flies in my tank which I suck out with the vaccume perodically (lol) but they usually reappear.. never once saw a maggot though.
