Saying sorry to one person is hard, a public apology takes baThat's the thing. He never apologized, he even has an hour long podcast trying to make excuses with the person who tried selling "hobby Poecilotheria".
Not to mention his top 10 videos, which one of those has been debunked by an actual entomologist for wrong information
Both fruits?Apples and oranges. The "leader" of your country should not have been forgiven. Being in a position of power they are held to higher standards than the general population. A racist and/or sexist does not deserve any power or authority. Also if they can't forgive the gender or race for w.e. messed up reason they have for not liking said race or gender, then why do they deserve forgiveness. Sounds like your country (mine as well, and likely many other countries) needs to think twice about who is deserving of forgiveness.
And "I" never forgave him - Ive been to countless ANTI-HIM protests and marches LOL.
The other day I was partly just being devils advocate but this has now got more interesting as I couldn't agree more with your comment - Ive spent years being ANTI-BJ (not that kind ofc) and Im glad he is leaving power. When he worked in lower positions it was bad enough but when he got the big seat I died inside. It was a big mix of emotions and none were good, Someone with his history shouldn't work as in such an ambassadorial role. They set the wrong example. [/digression]
Which kinda brings me full circle I guess on this. Maybe i "get it" more now. it still allows me to ponder - how can someone who made such a huge boo boo - not apologise - and carry on as if it hasn't happened - and "profit".
Due to the tongue in cheek comparison, Even though "The Grim Reaper" disagrees with me in terms of comparison, TC being compared to BJ is appropriate, he has charm.. character... is bubbly...likeable. There are similarities there
Im still stuck on the fence though - which is a shift from me trolling in his defence
Because this happened before I entered the hobby... do I go with the common opinion based on he made an unforgivable remark and hold him with contempt.
OR
Give someone the benefit of the doubt and judge someone for what they do rather than what they have done?
