My juvenile Grammostola pulchra molted yesterday. When I checked her today I saw that her hintlegs are in a weird orange tone and I couldn't find anything related.

It could be a grammostola quirogai. They are selling them like Grammostola Pulchras... They are a little bit more brownish compared to the Pulchras.

Or a hybrid? With an anthracina?

I think there was another case in this forum, of a brown pulchra. They can became brownish but before a molt not after.

She was pure black before molting and now these weirdly colored legs. She has 3 cm body length and we've got her last summer :(

I’ve read about peoples T’s changing colors after molting and then changing back to their formal colors after another molt

Is it just molted?
Maybe it needs to harden a bit more and it then turns blacker?

I've got no link :( My Grammostola pulchra was in her previous molt jet black, like you said. Now her toe pads are a brownish orange but her front legs seem normal. Her breeder sold her as a G. pulchra, we bought our Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens from him... Sorry for my bad english :(

In another life, I owned a female G. pulchra. It was jet black, before/during/and after molting. Never anything but jet black.

Old thread, it can be helpful, but updates on the matter have been made, already. As we already talked about it.

You only have this picture? There are tons of Black tarantulas out there being sold as G. pulchra.
Anyway, wait for her to "dry" after her molt and take another shot. Only for this one, truly, doesnt mean anything.

I hope these are more helpful pictures:

And that's how she looked before molt:

She seems brighter than before, especially her carapax has white spots and on the sides of her abdomen, too. We got her black and now she's brownish. I hope she gets more black in her next molt :(

Looks very strange. Do you have any pic from the top?

It's difficult to take pictures from the top. She runs away before I could open the door and her enclosure is from Exo Terra, with the metal mesh. I hope she comes later out so I can take better pictures from the top :( I'm so worried about my tarantula :( :(

Imo, this is post molt coloration. I believe she will darkened.

Either way, both pulchra and quirogai can get brownish so, I believe we cant never be sure about this one.

If you get as pulchra, keep it as pulchra, if you can take a dorsal picture of her in the future, post it here please. :)
