I haven't seen black and yellow Argiopes in my area for going on 15 yrs, just widows, jumpers and various wolf spiders. Yesterday I found a small juvenile on the property. It has only 7 legs so I'm calling it "Gimp". If I intend to keep it, would it be best to acclimatize gradually to temps/humidity in my T room(constant 79-82deg, 65% humidity and sorta stuffy), or are they ok with a move to those conditions? It apparently has thrived in low 50's nights to mid 90's daytime and 30-50% humidity and breezy. They're pretty scary looking, but this one is really docile even when it's web was torn down when I caught it.
I have it in a KK outside until I get an ok from roommates to keep it with my tarantulas and make a habitat for it.
