Wax melters/Candles in the same room as a tarantula?

But is soot flying through the air? Or found only on the objects being burned/heated? I always thought it was only on the above.

The majority of the soot probably collects on surfaces immediately near the flame, especially above it. But I imagine some of it must end up scattering into the air around it and then settling farther away. That's my guess at least. I really do not know much about the subject.
