Watering Baby/Juvenile millipedes.

I got a few millipedes today, and all but 1 of them are really small, about 2 or 2 1/2 inches.
I wasn't expecting them that small, so I had some medium sized water dishes for them, well obviously they would drown, and if i put my rocks in it
even still it would be hard for them to get in the dish, so I got a plastic soda bottle cap and put it in there and it still seemed too deep. and my rocks are too big for the bottle cap. So now I have a folded paper towel in there that i soaked in water, will this be okay?

If baby millis are too small to drink from water dishes, will a wet paper towel work?

My giant pink leg female is actually on top of the paper towel right now. So i'm assuming shes drinking from it?

moist substrate and a shallow water dish should be fine. i highly doubt that your millipede would crawl into the water dish and drown itself... unless someone else had it happened to them. none of mine ever crawled into their water dish.

2 ivory millipedes and 1 albino narceus (Both of them are tiny)

Haha, I'm sure they'll be fine. I found a few empty plastic jar..things. and they had long-ish but shallow lids, perfect for them.
(those aren't the only species i got, I also got a giant black pink leg)

I've read that millipedes actually don't need a water bowl, as long as their home is kept well-humidified and moist. I have a group of A. gigas and a group of Apeuthes sp. that i purchased as small plings; they are now mature, healthy, active adults, and they've never been given a water bowl. Millipedes need a very moist environment, but they don't physically need to drink water.

I feel the same way, but I've know people to keep a shallow water dish without ill effects. If I were to do the same, I'd probably treat it like any other water dish and provide materials for things to crawl out of it just in case. Some milli babies have been known to aggregate in an area of condensation, effectively committing suicide. That said, I prefer a humid container & weekly feedings of moist vegetable matter.

I wasn't putting a container with water in their cage, I thought that same way, that they were getting plenty from the fruits and veggies. But somebody suggested having water in the terr was a good idea, they said, "..having a container of water is a must!" So I put some caps of water in with them. It is strange to me, they really like it and often drink(at least that's what it looks like they are doing). It was a surprise to me because what they eat has so much water in it. Well it can't hurt so, I put a few caps of water in with them.
