How about using water crystals in a dish to up the humidity in an enclosure? Might be a better way than misting to prevent mold.
Use a water dish. For most adult and near adult sized tarantulas something like a tuna fish can works well. Make sure you have a piece of slate or a rock in it as an escape ramp for the crickets.

Now cover almost all the open part of the cage with plastic food wrap or clear packaging tape. You want ventilation 95+% blocked.

Go to bed secure in the idea that you've done marvels for raising the humidity for just a few pennies, that it's steady and constant, that it doesn't require constant or frequent monitoring, that it's not going to annoy the tarantula, and that it's not going to mold.

Rest assured, however, that because of the higher humidity other things in the cage (including spent food boluses, grape branches, generally anything organic including the tarantula) may mold. Just watch what's happening and increase ventilation a bit if mold becomes a problem.

Will your tarantula suffocate? So far as I know, no one has ever reported it. In view of tarantulas' low oxygen demands, almost certainly not.

Learn to meditate with your tarantula! It'll lower your blood pressure and keep you from doing something silly when caring for your spiders.
